International Dressage stallion Demonstrator dies at 32

International Dressage stallion and leading producer of competition horses, Demonstrator dies at 32. He was shortlisted with Ferdi Eilberg for 1996 Olympics and in 1999 Horse and Hound named him leading sire of dressage horses. In the same year Dressage Magazine voted him Dressage Horse of the Year.

Allbany is by Almanach by Alarm which stems from the famous line of Rewanz by Nemrod, the first coloured Trakehner stallion in Germany after the war, imported in 1988 from  Poland by Gestuet Deschenhof.  His line carries true greatness and can be found in such pedigrees as Rittersporn, the sire of Dressage Star Rembrandt and the graded stallion Heops. His dam line comes from the exceptional moving Irish Draft stallion Snowford Bellman by the legendary  Slievenamon out of Snowford Harebell by the late great Skippy.  Without a doubt one of the best Irish Draft stallions available Bellman is a great producer of competition stock.  He is currently Show Jumping at Grade A in the USA. Allbany's dam line is strengthened with the use of TB blood from King Sitric , a winner of seven races and a sound breeder of Event horses.  King Sitric can be found in the pedigree of such stars as Ben Faerie and showing Champion Blyth Valentino.
